Well there have been a couple of issues with the FAA data, it’s complete but it needs to be cleaned up a bit as testing has shown a few issues. These mainly come down to the inconsistent way that the data was entered in the first place, it is a people thing I’m afraid. But I will be pushing on with getting the data ready, it might take a little longer than I thought.
So, I have started refining the process of preparing the data and I’m also trundling along with the other pages on the site. I had been working on the data from the 24th of May, now I’m working on the 6th of June data set. I’m happy to say that all the basic building of the data set works fine, I just have a few refinements to add in.
The data sets will be slightly different from the initial specification, the data sets will, as it happens have a bit more information included – in both the Intermediate and Full data sets. It looks like the downloads are going to run from around 20Mb for the Enthusiast data set, all the way to 120Mb for the Full data set.
So quite a lot of data to get sorted out, I’ll keep you posted.
